We are looking to add an experienced IP Paralegal who will take on responsibilities including management of an active docket of both U.S. and foreign patent and trademark matters and our university and startup company clients. This position is remote.
Key activities include:
Working collaboratively with a paralegal team supporting our clients, attorneys, and agents.
Preparing formal documents and managing uploads at the USPTO and WIPO for patent and trademark matters, including direct PCT filings and demands with the International Bureau, trademark filings through the Madrid Protocol, and design applications filed through the Hague.
Managing communications with foreign counsel on foreign patent and trademark matters.
Docketing and reporting official communications from the USPTO and foreign intellectual property offices.
Managing patent and trademark renewals through our renewals provider.
Managing federal Bayh-Dole reporting through i-Edison.
Qualifications:
Must be available full-time and eligible to work in the US.
A paralegal certificate is strongly preferred.
Must have at least 3 years (preferably 5) of experience as a paralegal or docketing clerk handling US or foreign patent and trademark matters.
Experience with modern intellectual property practice management is required, including a preference for those with experience using FoundationIP and/or Curo365.
Tech-savvy and comfortable with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
Confidentiality, discretion, and judgment in managing sensitive and ambiguous situations.
Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately across the organization and with clients and key external stakeholders.
